The Vielight Neuro Alpha is a home-use brain photobiomodulation device that delivers 810-nm near infrared light energy, pulsed at 10-Hz.
The light emitting diodes (LEDs) are directed to hubs of the default mode network of the brain. A healthy default mode network is associated with a healthy brain.
The pulse rate of 10-Hz correlates with alpha (α) oscillations within the brain. Invoking the 10-Hz pulse frequency is theoretically associated with improved recovery from brain injuries and is a feature of a healthy, calm and resting brain.
